The problem with all these so-called, "Documentaries" is that the moment the subject is aware that they're being taped, you can throw everything out the window. People, especially high school kids, will start acting out, mugging for the camera etc. Teachers will often behave like they're saints and on and on. It no longer is realistic or objective in any sense of the word. The only way you can ever get a realistic sense of what's happening is to put hidden cameras everywhere and not tell anyone. But then of course you could never release this. I think they should have a disclaimer before each episode stating "The Students and teachers you see in this where aware that they were being taped the entire time!"

Sneak attack! Appa does not sound like a stereotypical Asian. I’m super stoked he won the award and I think that’s AMAZING for Asian representation in Hollywood. But please stop making them perform with stereotypical accents. In kdramas set in Korea when the characters speak English they don’t have those choppy Asian accents Hollywood makes them speak with 😩

I just discovered this on Prime and am so bummed there aren't more seasons! I loved this show. Whoever directed it is so talented. I felt such love and empathy for each student featured. They made me laugh and cry, and I wanted to hug every student and teacher!
